RHS program earns recognition
Rosemount High School is one of two Gold Star Winners of the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals 2012-13 Star of Innovation Award sponsored by Horace Mann which provides insurance and annuities for Minnesota educators.
The school earned recognition for its Leading and Developing Readiness/ Concurrent College Enrollment for the Academic Middle.
The program involves a targeted population of students who might not otherwise have earned college credits during their high school years by taking college preparation courses in grade 10, in partnership with Inver Hills Community College. Then in grades 11 and 12, these same students will take Inver Hills Community College Courses, taught at Rosemount High School, by high school teachers who have been trained by the college. These same students are assured of admission into Inver Hills Community College upon graduation from high school if they so choose.
