Relay for Life

The Rosemount community is invited to attend the Relay for Life of Rosemount being held on June 20-21 at Central Park in downtown Rosemount. Remember to bring lawn chairs for amphitheater seating for the opening ceremony starting at 6 p.m. Luminaria ceremony will be at 10 p.m. and closing ceremony will be at 6 a.m. on June 21. All are welcome.

Peder Eide at Community of Hope

Christian singer Peder Eide will perform twice at Community of Hope Church

Sunday, June 22. Performances will begin at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. The event is free and kid friendly. For more information visit the Community of Hope website at www.cohlc.org.

UMore open house

The University of Minnesota's vision for a new community on it's 5,000-acre Umore Park property in Dakota County moves to the next phase with the June presentation of concept scenarios that offer visuals of what the property might look like over 25 to 30 years.

Options for the jointly managed 2,822-acre natural area called Vermillion Highlands will also be on view, under the auspices of the Department of Natural Resources and the U, in conjunction with Dakota County.

Forums will be held at from 5:30 to 9 p.m. June 23 at the Rosemount Community Center.

June 24

Dakota County demographics event

The Dakota County Social Leader Action Network and the Dakota County Office of Planning and Development will co-host a free event on an updated profile of Dakota County demographics. The workshop will give nonprofits the opportunity to learn about external trends affecting the lives of citizens living in the county. The event will be held at the Rosemount Community Center June 24 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. RSVP by June 17 by calling Diane Tran 651-789-0036. Space is limited.

Tuesday's in the Garden

The Dakota County Master Gardener's will host classes at the University of Minnesota Extension Garden, located at 1605 160th St. West, every Tuesday throughout the summer. Going Green in the Garden will be the topic cover on June 24. Class starts at 6:30 p.m. and costs $10.

Blood drive

Severe weather and flooding are devastating communities throughout the Midwest and are also affecting blood supply.

Eligible donors are encouraged to make donations. The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at the Rosemount Community Center, 13885 S. Robert Trail, from 1 to 7 p.m. Call 1-800-448-3543 for an appointment or go online to wwwgivelife.org.

Car wash

The Rosemount Competition Cheerleading Squad will have a car wash at Goodyear in Rosemount on June 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please come support the girls to help them raise money for their national trip to Orlando Florida in February.

June 29

Rosemount United Methodist host Wiegel family

The Rosemount United Methodist Church will host the Wiegel Family from Bonn, Germany at 5 p.m.

The five member family band will perform a variety of musical selections including classical and folk music. During their performance the family will play selections from such artist as Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, Greeg and Handel.

Tickets are not required to attend the event. A free will donation will be collected for the family. RUMC is located at 14770 Canada Ave. For more information call 651-423-2475.
