Punch lands Rosemount student in trouble
A pre-Thanksgiving fight during gym class likely left one Rosemount student with an obstacle to eating turkey. It could land another student in some legal trouble.
The fight occurred as the students played football in gym class Nov. 20. According to witnesses, 18-year-old Jeremy Johnson got mad when another student shoved him. He punched that student in the face, knocking out two of his teeth and possibly damaging his gums.
According to a complaint filed this week in the Dakota County Attorney's office Johnson admitted throwing the punch.
If convicted on a felony charge of third degree assault Johnson could face up to five years in jail and fines of up to $10,000.
