The Dakota County Board of Commissioners met on January 7, 2014 and took action with respect to the following matters: The Dakota County Sheriffs Honor Guard presented the colors for the Pledge of Allegiance. Elected - 2014 County Board Chair Commissioner Liz Workman and Vice Chair Commissioner Tom Egan.
Approvals/Authorizations: County Board Meeting Minutes December 17, 2013. Amended Policy No. 1015, Citizen Advisory Committee Membership and Dakota County Policy regarding dangerous dogs and adopt Policy No. 1002, Development and Revision of Policies and Procedures and County Board Operating Rules and Guidelines. Call of Outstanding General Obligation Capital Improvement Plan Bonds Series 2003B and Series 2006A. Discontinue Byllesby Advisory Committee. 2014 Library Board and Public Art Citizen Advisory Committee work plans. Color palettes for furniture for Farmington and Inver Glen Libraries. Ratify court order appointing law office to represent individuals in civil commitment proceedings. Designated - 2012 local officials for Campaign Finance & Public Disclosure Board reporting and Association of MN Counties. Summary of conclusions of closed executive session to evaluate performance of County Administrator. Contract with Motorola, Inc. for 800 MHz subsystem. Renew contract with Specialty Underwriters, LLC for equipment maintenance insurance. Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) with Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Organization for monitoring, outreach and evaluation program. Purchase surveying equipment. JPA with State of MN for transportation of sex offenders. Conveyance of tax-forfeited properties. Award bids and contract for legal notices. Appointments: Metropolitan Emergency Services Board committees, chairs of Committees of the Whole, board members to various boards, committees and commissions, and citizens to various citizen advisory committees. Preparation of trail alignments and amend process for Lebanon Hills Regional Park Master plan. Hold closed executive sessions to discuss County of Dakota v. Convenience Store Investments, LLC and federal lawsuit brought by Anna Doree and Cassie Birk.
