More than 300 runners competed in Saturday's Run for the Gold in Rosemount.

Eight of the top 10 finishers were locals, including champion Chris Massey, who pulled away from the field in a time of 21 minutes, 45 seconds, on the four-mile course. The former Irish distance running standout topped runner-up Kyle Mills by 22 seconds.

Irish distance runner Shane McCallum placed third in 22:22, followed by Nathan Rock in fourth at 22:25. Mike Bumgardner, 22, was the oldest runner in the top 10 and finished fifth in 22:30.

Calvin Lehn, Chandler Dye, Trevor Capra, Jonathan Sampers and Timothy Sampers rounded out a competitive top 10.

The top female finisher was Rebecca Pachuta of Eagan, who placed 20th overall in 26:32. Taylor Perkins was second out of 91 female entrants in 27:34 and Diane Weyrens of Rosemount was 35th overall in 28:17.

Other local division champions were Melvin Alvarez (16th overall, 1st in 50-59), Danny Kleiber (30th overall, 1st in 13-14), Jo McGovern (57th overall and 1st in 40-49), Naomi Alvarez (61st overall, 1st in 13-14), Tyler Kronbeck (67th overall, 1st in 11-12), Sydney Regalado (96th overall, 1st in 11-12) and Renee Trier (147th overall, 1st in 60-69).

Jason Schultz of Lakeville won the one-mile race in 5:07, followed by runner-up Mike Capra of Rosemount in 5:10. Over 100 runners competed in the one-mile race.
