New boutique offers vintage charm
Transformed Treasures at A Bushel and A Peck is a mix of many things. It’s a modern boutique with vintage charm. It’s a new store in a historic downtown. And it’s a dream come true for two women who several months ago didn’t know each other.
“This is the dream, right here,” said Christy Macho, looking around Transformed Treasures’ new location in Rosemount.
Macho and Dawn McCracken will open Transformed Treasures at A Bushel and A Peck July 17 at 14680 S. Robert Tr. The boutique offers home décor items, upcycled furniture and unique gifts created by area artists.
Before combining efforts, Macho owned and operated A Bushel and A Peck and McCracken, Transformed Treasures. Macho had been running occasional sales out of her Rosemount home with a number of other artisans.
When the women met through that venture, Macho and McCracken realized they had similar visions for the future. The two women also share a similar sense of style and a desire to see their businesses move forward.
With all that in mind, Macho and McCracken decided to partner and open a brick and mortar store that would feature their items as well as those of other artists. They decided to combine their names as their individual store monikers held special meaning to each of them.
“We see this growing and becoming a great place for artists to sell their work,” said McCracken
After looking at a number of locations, Macho and McCracken decided to open in downtown Rosemount. Macho said they chose the property because of its warm and inviting charm and high profile along Highway 3.
“This was a great location and we wanted to support the community and local artists,” said Macho.
While the store hasn’t opened yet, people are already coming through the doors curious to see what the boutique offers. Macho and McCracken have spent the last few weeks filling the rooms with products.
In addition to shopping, Transformed Treasures will offer classes and will custom make products for people. Lastly, Macho said they are always looking for new and exciting items to fill their space.
“We’re opening it up to all different areas,” said Macho.
Transformed Treasures at A Bushel and Peck will hold its grand opening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 17.
The city will host a ribbon cutting for the boutique at 10 a.m. July 24.
