Man charged with sending explicit texts to teenage girl
A 22-year-old Rosemount man faces felony charges of soliciting a child after he allegedly sent explicit videos and text messages to a 14-year-old girl.
The girl's mother, who shares a cell phone with her daughter, found the messages while going through the phone. She told police last January she recognized the sender as Robert Ranzy IV, who lived in the same townhome complex.
The girl admitted receiving the messages from Ranzy and said she had sent back three nude photos of herself.
Police found those photos along with text exchanges between Ranzy and the girl that discussed sexting, oral sex and masturbation, among other things. They also found a video on the phone that starts with Ranzy looking into the camera and saying, "I love you baby," then masturbating.
If convicted on either of two charges of electronic solicitation of a child Ranzy could face up to three years in jail and fines of up to $5,000.
