To the editor,

Considering that Rosemount is the only city in the area without a senior center, I feel compelled to voice my opinion.

For over 50 years, we seniors have supported our schools, playgrounds, ballfields - and more are promised - all equipments, personnel necessary to maintain some. Why, then, can we not have one small space in Rosemount - vacated by St. Joe's School and forced out homeowners with our own one level building, possibly shared with our arts council, with stadium seating, as Apple Valley has in their center. Presently, if you are not seated within five rows of staging area, you see nothing.

Have your developer build his fortress in area of "promised" new hotel. Where there would be more space for the sizable building proposed now. More area for residents to walk, enjoy outdoors and minimize parking problems. Garden space for residents who enjoy working outdoors, instead of crowding into a half block area.

Also makes me wonder how many seniors will be able to afford $1,500 to $1,600 rental.

Wouldn't a one level senior center-arts council complex as you enter Rosemount from the north be a welcome sight?

Thank you!

Helen Brandt
