Letter: City should be careful with its spending
To the editor,
I read in the Jan. 24, 2008 StarTribune that Rosemount voters might be voting in April for an $8 million referendum to build the new athletic complex, put in tennis courts at Erickson Park and renovate the former St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Considering the fact that we are in a recession and that large amounts of taxpayer money is already being spent on downtown, I think these projects should be carefully considered before burdening the citizens of Rosemount with a tax increase. Rosemount voters should be able to examine each of the three projects on its own merit and have the choice to vote on each separately and not have to take all or nothing.
