Legion skid reaches nine games
Rosemount Minnesota P.O. Box 192 / 312 Oak St. 55024

Two weeks ago, the Rosemount Legion Post 65 baseball team lost to Apple Valley 11-0 at the Eagan Invitational.

Rosemount played better in the rematch Wednesday, but the result was the same as Post 65 dropped another one-run decision. Apple Valley brought in what turned out to be the winning run on a pair of errant throws in the top of the fifth inning and held on 2-1 as Post 65 suffered its ninth straight setback since starting the season 2-0.

"I considered the first meeting a pre-test and (Wednesday's) meeting a post-test," Rosemount coach Rick Myskewitz said. "I could definitely see our improvement at the plate."

Post 65 outhit Apple Valley 5-3, but didn't dent the scoreboard until the bottom of the sixth inning. Nate LeMoine led off the inning with a walk and Jon Bishop brought him all the way around with his second double of the game.

Jordan Tumilson went the distance on the mound, holding Apple Valley to one earned run on three hits while striking out two.

Lakeville South 7,

Post 65 3

Lakeville South chased starter Leske with a two-run double during a three-run second inning, then padded its lead with another two-run double off reliever Tony Prostrollo in a 7-3 triumph over Rosemount last Tuesday in Lakeville.

Post 65 took a brief lead with a single run in the top of the first, then didn't push across another until the seventh. Leske started the game with a single, moved up on a Lucas Haase base hit and came home on a Bishop sacrifice fly.

In the seventh, two Lakeville South errors and a Haase RBI single brought in two more runs before the game ended with the tying run in the on-deck circle.

Haase and Joe Waite each tallied two of Rosemount's seven hits.
