Phillip Sterner's campaign for Minnesota House will hold a neighborhood bash from 12 to 5 p.m. May 31 at the Rosemount Pavillion at Central Park.

Boy Scout reunion

Boy Scout Troop 293 of Apple Valley/Rosemount will celebrate its 25th anniversary from 2 to 5 p.m. June 1 at Rosemount United Methodist Church. Rosemount seniors chicken dinner

Landfill information meeting

SKB Environmental and 3M will host an informational poster session at 5 p.m. June 5 regarding the disposal of 3M waste containing PFCs at the SKB Rosemount landfill. There will be an informational poster session from 5 to 6 p.m. and a brief presentation starting at 6 p.m.

Senior fellowship

Lighthouse Community Church will host a free meal for all seniors 50 and over at noon June 12. The event will include a meal, fellowship and a program. The church is located at 3285 144th St. W For more information call 651-423-2566.

June 14

Twins baseball clinic

The Minnesota Twins will offer free baseball and softball clinics for boys and girls ages 6 to 16 at 10 a.m. June 14 at Jaycee Park. In the event of rain the clinics will be moved to the Rosemount Community Center.

There will be two 90-minute sessions, the first for kids 6 to 9 and the second for kids 10 to 16. The second session will start at 11:30.

Document destruction day

Rosemount National Bank will hold a document destruction day from 9 a.m. until noon June 14. Rosemount residents and business owners are invited to bring old confidential documents to the bank's parking lot, where a truck will be on hand to destroy them. The service is free. Refreshments will be served. The bank is located at 15055 Chippendale Ave.

UMore open house

The University of Minnesota's vision for a new community on it's 5,000-acre Umore Park property in Dakota County moves to the next phase with the June presentation of concept scenarios that offer visuals of what the property might look like over 25 to 30 years.

Options for the jointly managed 2,822-acre natural area called Vermillion Highlands will also be on view, under the auspices of the Department of Natural Resources and the U, in conjunction with Dakota County.

Forums will be held at from 5:30 to 9 p.m. June 19 at the Rosemount Community Center.

Health care information session

Arc Greater Twin Cities will hold a free forum about Special Needs BasicCare, Minnesota's new managed health care program, from 1 to 3 p.m. June 19 at MRCI, 15191 Boulder Ct. in Rosemount.

Special Needs BasicCare is a voluntary program for people ages 18-64 with disabilities. The forum will answer basic questions about the program to help people determine whether participation is right for them.

Participants should register in advance by calling Arc at 952-920-0855.
