It's been a good fall for RHS sports

To the editor,

I want to thank the Rosemount community for all your support of our fall sports teams. It has been the most successful fall season for our teams that we have had in my 18 years as athletic director.

Both of our soccer teams made it to section semi-finals this fall, losing very close games. In girls tennis they went 3-5 in conference play and Ally Baker advanced in individual section play.

Our girls swim and dive team won the section true team title and will advance to true team state at the U of M at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.

Our boys cross country team won the South Suburban Conference title on Friday and will now attempt to win the section title next Thursday, Oct. 24  at Valleywood Golf Course at 3:30pm. Our girls cross country team took sixth on Friday afternoon.

Our volleyball team posted the most wins in a season in the last 15 years and should finish the regular season 23-8 and 6-3 in conference.

The RHS football team is still undefeated in conference play and on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. the fifth-ranked Irish took on fourth-ranked Lakeville North in Irish Stadium to become the outright South Suburban Conference Champions for 2013.

Best of luck and congratulations to all of our Irish fall sports teams.
