Irish band brings home another state title
It's another year, another state title for the Rosemount High School marching band.
One week after finishing fourth in the Bands of America Super Regional in St. Louis, the RHS band took its third consecutive title in the Youth in Music Marching Band Championships held Saturday at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.
The Irish finished first in both the preliminaries and the finals. Eden Prairie finished second and Eastview was the next best Minnesota band at fifth. Bands from Sioux Falls Roosevelt in South Dakota and Lincoln Way Central in Illinois were third and fourth, respectively.
Rosemount also took preliminary caption awards for Outstanding Winds and Outstanding Color Guard and finals caption awards for winds, color guard and Outstanding Drumline.
