Ice blamed for death of one, injury to another
The Minnesota State Patrol is blaming a patch of ice on Highway 52 for the single-vehicle accident that injured a 20-year-old Rosemount woman and killed her passenger Sunday.
Lauren Jansson was driving south on Highway 52 near 117th Street around noon when she hit a patch of ice. The 2005 Pontiac G6 rolled off the road to the right. Both Jansson and her passenger, 19-year-old Michael Hoeft of Inver Grove Heights, were thrown from the car.
Jansson suffered minor injuries. She was treated at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Hoeft was killed.
