Highway 55 closed for the weekend

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will close down Highway 55 both directions starting Nov. 2. The highway will be closed to allow railroad crews time to do repairs on the road surface between the rails at the crossing, according to a press release from MNDOT.

Signs will advise motorists of the detour which will use County Road 42 and Highway 52 to bypass the closure. Vehicles weighing more than nine tons should seek an alternative route.

The road should reopen by 6 p.m. Nov. 3.
