Highway 3 will close this weekend
Highway 3 is scheduled to be closed to all traffic from 142nd St. W to 140th Circle beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2. It is scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5. During this closure, the contractor will work 24 hours per day to complete the installation of the pedestrian underpass beneath Highway 3. There will likely be increased noise and lights from the construction activity during this time.
The Rosemount City Council, Rosemount Police Department and Rosemount High School officials all support the road closure as a preferred method to eliminate the need for lane shifts and reduce the amount of time traffic will be impacted by construction. The city has worked with Dakota County and the Minnesota Department of Transportation to establish a detour route along CSAH 42, Pilot Knob Road and McAndrews Road.
The city of Rosemount has a map of the detour on its website.
There will be access to Rosemount High School from the south and to the Rosemount Community Center from the north.
