High school registration starts in January
Rosemount High School freshmen, sophomores and juniors will register for 2013-2014 courses during the months of January and February 2013. RHS students will meet for an extended homeroom period on Wednesday, Jan. 9 to receive registration materials and other information. Students will receive registration recommendations from teachers on registration advisory day Monday, Jan. 28. Students will be able to register online using their SchoolView account (or a parent/guardian account) from Jan. 28 through 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4. On Thursday, Feb. 7, a second homeroom will be held to check and collect signed registration forms and online registration confirmations. Parents are encouraged to review registration materials with their son or daughter and participate in selecting courses. A meeting for parents of current ninth, 10th and 11th grade students will be conducted in the Rosemount High Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7. The registration process will be reviewed at this meeting.
Middle school students who will attend RHS as freshmen next year will receive their registration materials during a January visit to Rosemount High School. On Friday, Jan. 18, current eighth grade students will come to Rosemount High School for a meeting at which time registration materials will be distributed and explained. Rosemount High School-bound students from non-RHS feeder middle schools may arrange to attend this session through their middle school counselor. Eighth grade students will register for 2013-14 courses online using a parent/guardian SchoolView account. The online registration window opens on Friday, Jan. 18 and closes at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11. On Thursday, Feb. 14 counselors will travel to middle schools to answer questions and collect registration materials. A meeting to introduce the registration process will be conducted for parents of current eighth grade students who will be attending Rosemount High School next year. This meeting will be in the Rosemount High School Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3.
Students who live in District 196 and are not attending a District 196 school at this time, but plan to attend RHS in 2013-2014 should call RHS to make an appointment with a counselor during the month of January at 651-423-7517.
The student's registration requests will be tallied, and this data will then be used to form classes, plan the master schedule and hire/assign teachers for the 2013-2014 school year. For these reasons, the registration plans should be made with great care. Parents and students who would like to meet with a counselor may make an appointment by calling 651-423-7517. Parents wanting additional information regarding the registration process should select the "Registration" icon at www.district196.org/rhs (available starting Dec.19).
