Help people in need during Leprechaun Days
To the editor,
This July 17-26 Rosemount Leprechaun Days will host many activities for different ages and interests. I am writing to call your attention, and ask for your help in making one of the events successful. On July 20 and 25 the city of Rosemount and Cub Foods are sponsoring a food drive to help stock local food shelves. We are working hard to get the word out to people who may attend the Family Fun Day at Cub (July 20) and/or the Parade (July 25). Family Fun Day takes place in the Rosemount Cub Foods parking lot from 1 to 5 p.m. There will be games for kids, fire trucks, DARE police officers, jumper houses, food and costumed characters. Bring, or purchase, your non-perishable food or household item and place them in collection bins on site. The parade starts at 11 a.m., but volunteers will be pushing grocery carts up and down the parade route before, starting at roughly 10:15, to collect items and donations. All food and household items collected will be hurried back and placed on the food drive float and brought through the parade. Any help that you could offer in spreading the word would be very much appreciated since the inventory at the CAP and CAC are running low, especially on diapers, toilet paper ( and other paper products) and laundry soap. Other items mentioned specifically were spaghetti, oatmeal, boxed dinners, and pancake mix.
Thank you very much.
