Rosemount No. 2 singles player Ally Baker was the only member of the team to make it through the tournament undefeated, going 3-0 to win an individual medal. She defeated Shakopee's No. 2 singles player 10-5 in a third-set super-tiebreaker.

Singles players Virginia Norder and Rachel Hoffmann each went 2-1 with losses against Chanhassen and Emily Harrington was 2-1 with a loss against Shakopee.

All four Rosemount doubles teams defeated Cannon Falls and Shakopee, but lost to Chanhassen.

The Irish prepped for the weekend tournament by improving to 4-0 in the South Suburban Conference with a 5-2 win over Eastview.

The difference came at doubles where the Irish swept all three matches. Monica McDonald and Abby Kohagen set the tone at No. 1 doubles with a 6-1, 6-0 decision and the tandems of Harrington and Hoffmann and Gretchen McDonald and Rachel Olson followed suit, winning 6-2, 6-1 and 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, respectively.

Norder and Baker each rallied to win their singles matches in three sets.

The Irish hosted Lakeville South Tuesday and continue their South Suburban Conference slate this afternoon with a trip to Lakeville North.
