Girls Night Out at Community of Hope on Saturday

The Women Who Move ministry at Community of Hope Church aims to help women deepen their relationship with God and other women.

The group, which meets monthly, doesn’t want finances to stand in the way of developing that relationship. That’s why the group holds an annual Girls Night Out to raise money for scholarships to participate in the program.

“Community of Hope Church has a large emphasis on our outreach ministry and the money will go to bless many women who may not be able to afford special events otherwise,” said Theresa Anderson, women’s ministry special events coordinator.

This year’s Girls Night Out will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 2 at the church. The evening will include music, silent and live auctions, desserts and more. Anderson said the event is a long standing fundraiser for the women’s ministry.

“It’s a fun night that supports a good cause,” said Anderson.

For the event, members will have prepared theme baskets set up for the women to bid on, and later in the night a live auction will be held for the bigger items.

Women Who Move meet monthly through the school year. In the spring, the group attends an annual retreat. The women meet in small groups as well as hold worship together. The group serves about 120 women, said Anderson.

Anderson said it’s important to have fellowship with other women to develop a closer relationship to God.

“It’s a great ministry,” said Anderson.

Those planning to attend are asked to bring a canned good with them for donation to the food shelf. For more information visit
