The Irish (1-12) earned the No. 8 seed in the Section 3 tournament and faced No. 9 seed Hastings in Wednesday’s play-in game. The winner faced the tall task of taking on top-seeded Apple Valley. Results from these games will appear in next week’s Independent Town Pages.

Madi Lubeley and Maggie Moeller each scored a pair of goals to pace Rosemount against Burnsville. Sydney Narloch, Hailey Franklin, Sam Rhody and Meghan Tuccitto each scored once.

Goaltender Charley Belden allowed 15 goals and saved 10 shots in 37 minutes. Emily Peterson saved three of seven shots.
