Girls lacrosse: Losing streak stretches to 10 games
The Rosemount girls lacrosse team played its two closest games of the season last week, but couldn’t put an end to its losing streak.
The Irish’s skid reached 10 games with a 21-10 setback to Lakeville North Friday at Irish Stadium. Earlier in the week, the team was defeated by Chaska 14-10 and let a one-goal halftime lead slip away in a 13-11 loss to Bloomington Kennedy.
In the loss to North, Madi Lubeley led the Irish with a hat trick. Sydney Narloch and Meghan Tuccitto each scored twice and Sam Rhody, Angela Bodine and Darby Henjum each tossed in goals.
Goaltender Charley Belden faced 32 Panther shots and stopped 11.
Narloch notched a team-leading three goals against Kennedy. Rhody and Lubeley each scored twice and Tuccitto, Bodine, Henjum and Maggie Moeller tacked on single goals.
Moeller and Narloch each turned in hat tricks against Chaska. Lubeley and Bodine added two goals apiece.
Belden finished with 10 saves.
The Irish (1-11) closed out the regular season Tuesday at Burnsville. The section playoffs begin on Wednesday.
