Losses to the top two teams in the South Suburban Conference -- and two of the top Class 4A teams in the state -- sent Rosemount to the bottom of the league standings last week.

The Irish opened the week with a 92-43 setback at fifth-ranked Bloomington Kennedy last Tuesday. The schedule didn't get any easier, as less than 48 hours later the team took the court in Apple Valley and was dealt a 60-38 decision by seventh-ranked Eastview. Kennedy and Eastview each improved to 14-2 in the SSC, while Rosemount fell to 3-13.

The regular season schedule wraps up this week with a road game at Eagan Tuesday and a home game against Burnsville tomorrow night at Irish Gym.

Hannah Grim scored a team-high 14 points against Eastview. Hannah Halterman added 10 points, five rebounds and five steals.

The Irish trailed just 37-27 at halftime before scoring 11 points in the second half.

Last Tuesday's game in Bloomington didn't get off to such a promising start. Kennedy scored a season-high 59 points in the first half as it built a 59-21 advantage.

Grim upped her team-leading average of 19.9 points per game with 25 points. Sidney Newton (six points) was the only other Irish player to score more than one basket.

Megan Schuster grabbed five of the team's season-low seven rebounds.
