Girls basketball: Irish lose two conference games
The Rosemount girls basketball team slipped back to 6-6 after a pair of South Suburban Conference losses last week.
The Irish led by a point before being outscored 39-25 in the second half of a 58-45 setback to Prior Lake Friday night at Irish Gym.
Sophomore guard Hannah Grim scored a team-high 21 points, including five three-pointers, but shot just 6 of 24 from the field. As a team, the Irish shot 24 percent.
Kaylie Hanson added eight points and three steals and Laura Dennis hauled in a team-high nine rebounds.
A slow start left Rosemount on the losing end of a 64-56 league showdown last Tuesday at Bloomington Jefferson. The Irish trailed 38-25 at the break before outscoring the Jaguars by five points in the second half.
Grim swished three three-pointers and finished with 21 points. Hannah Halterman added two threes and scored 11 points.
Hanson scored seven points and Laura Dennis added six points and seven rebounds. Taylor Grzywacz came off the bench and added seven boards.
