Football: Irish roll 28-6 at Kennedy

Rosemount, the defending South Suburban Conference champions and state runners-up in Class 5A, opened the season with a 28-6 league win at Bloomington Kennedy Thursday night.

Logan Lindberg scored the final three Irish touchdowns. He hauled in a 19-yard scoring pass from quarterback Nate LeMoine to make it 14-0 in the second quarter, returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown early in the third and caught another LeMoine strike from 13 yards out in the fourth quarter. Lindberg also supplied all four extra points.

LeMoine finished 9 of 14 through the air for 107 yards and added a team-high 57 rushing yards.

Andy Gustafson scored the first Rosemount touchdown on a run from three yards out.
