Sometimes it's good to change things up. For Rosemount Curves for Women owner Dee Dee Lind, that meant changing locations for her business.

Lind moved Curves for Women from Rosemount Market Square to the Waterford Commons building in downtown Rosemount this fall. The move, she said, has put new life into the business.

"I walk in here and smile. The ladies seem to like it too," Lind said of the new location.

Lind said the new location is centrally located and more visible. Additionally, Lind said Stonebridge Companies, owners of Waterford Commons, has been wonderful to work with.

Curves for Women provides a comprehensive exercise program. Lind said the program includes warm-up, cardiovascular training, strength training, cool down and stretching. The program includes 15 machines that clients go through twice. Each machine targets a different part of the body.

Lind said they also provide tools to help women meet their personal goals, which includes a computer program that records data from each workout.

Along with providing a workout, Curves also aims to be a social place. The machines are placed in a circle to encourage women to talk with one and other. Lind said it's a great place to meet friends.

"I love the people," said Lind.

Lind has owned the Curves since December 2008. She bought the business six months after joining Curves herself. Lind, who says she's never been athletic, said a neighbor convinced her to try Curves. The exercise program also has helped Lind deal with osteoporosis.

"It works for me," said Lind. "I was a total wimp but now I've got pipes."

For Lind, Curves is a labor of love. Lind also works full-time as a bartender at the airport where she was named Employee of the Year for 2011.

A membership to Curves costs $47.14 per month. Lind said she accepts most insurance companies, which reduces the price by $20 as long as members workout at least 12 times a month.

Curves is located at 2930 146th St. Suite 307, next door to Quilter's Haven. Call 651-344-3210 for more information.
