Fire prevention open house

Fire Station No. 2, 2047 Connemara Trail, will hold a fire prevention open house Sunday, October 12 from noon to 3 p.m.

The open house will feature various activities including a vehicle extrication demonstration, a chance to squirt a fire hose and tours of the trucks.

October 13

Haunted Woods Trail meeting

The Rosemount Halloween Committee will have its next meeting on Monday, October 13 at the Central Park Shelter. Meeting starts at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in volunteering for this annual event can attend this meeting or go to our website at www.rosemountevents.com and click on the witch for information. Choir fundraiser

The RHS Chorale is raising funds for their upcoming trip to Italy, spring 2009, by holding a community can drive Oct. 13 to 17. They are collecting any type of aluminum can. Donations can be dropped off at any time at the RHS west parking lot. Look for the trailer with the RHS Chorale sign.

October 14

Rosemount candidate forum

The Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Rosemount Town Pages will co-host a Rosemount candidate forum Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Rosemount City Hall. City council and 37B legislative candidates will have the chance to introduce themselves and their ideas to residents from 6 to 8 p.m.

The candidate forum will be held at Rosemount City Hall in council chambers. For those who can't make it to city hall the forum will air live on the Rosemount Town Pages Web site at www.rosemounttownpages.com and on Charter Communication Cable Channel 22 and FTTH channel 7. Times for subsequent showings of the forum on cable will be determined later.

Coffee with a cop

Rosemount police officers will be available to answer questions and clarify issues weekly at area coffee shops.

On Thursday, Oct. 6 an officer will be present at the Rosemount Starbucks, 14903 South Robert Trail, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

October 18

Irishettes chili feed

The Rosemount High School Irishettes will host a chili feed at Carbone's Pizza Saturday, Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $5.

October 23

Coffee with a cop

Rosemount police officers will be available to answer questions and clarify issues weekly at area coffee shops.

On Thursday, Oct. 23 an officer will be present at the Rosemount Dunn Brothers, 15023 Crestone Ave., from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Lasagna for literacy dinner

The Rosemount Middle School will hold a lasagna dinner, Thursday, Oct. 23 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Pre-sale Tickets can be purchased at Rosemount Middle School on Monday, Oct. 13 from noon to 8 p.m. and Tuesday Oct. 14 from 7:30 a.m. to noon.

Cost is $7 for adults if purchased beforehand or $8 at the door. Children 4 and under will cost $3; $4 at the door.

For a family of four or more the cost will be $25.

Please plan to attend this exciting event to help raise funds to purchase books for students. The event will take place in the Rosemount Middle School multipurpose room. Please enter front doors.

RMS gladly accepts new or gently used books that are appropriate for middle school students. There will be a drop-off box available at the door.

Haunted Woods Trail

The Haunted Woods Trail will be held on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Central Park across from City Hall. The trail will start at the park and ride lot just north of the animal hospital. Cash donations or non-perishable food shelf items will be accepted at the entrance of the trail. Dancing with the RHS Stars

Enjoy an incredible evening as seven couples perform seven different dances in competition for the most votes.

Join the Irishettes to support a favorite dance couple and help them win the Dancing with the RHS Stars Benefit Challenge.

A special performance will be danced by professional dance instructor, Jim Crawford of Attitude Dance together with Irishettes' coach, Leah Burkhardt.

The event will start at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 in the RHS Performing Arts Center.

Admission is $10 for adults and $6 for students.
