Dakota Rev fundraiser

Dakota REV Thunder will host a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30. Cost is $6 per person and includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice & coffee. Funds raised will be used towards tournament costs.

Volunteens deadline at library

The Robert Trail Library is looking for teenagers, 12 to 18, to volunteer at the library this summer. The responsibilities will be mostly to help sign up children for the summer reading club. We also will work on an origami project. Volunteens only need to work 2 hours a week and 12 hours for the whole summer. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 10 to 4. Applications are available at the library and must be returned by May 30. The mandatory training for the volunteers will be Saturday, May 30 from 2 to 3. It will be a great summer and hopefully we will have lots of volunteens.

Tuesday Evening in the Garden

The Dakota County Master Gardeners will hold their Tuesday Evenings in the Garden class June 2.

The topic will be Luscious Tomatoes, taught by David Zlesak.

The classes begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at 1605 160th St W (CR 46) in Rosemount.

Homebuyers workshop

Rosemount National Bank will host a free homebuyers workshop 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 6.

RNB and Tim Petersen will help interest people access the correct tools, make the right decisions and gain the knowledge to help purchase a home. Petersen will demonstrate some tricks of the trade, tips and show how to save money. For additional information and to reserve a spot please call us at 651-423-8743 The event is open to everyone.

Plan, Plant and Grow

Learn to grow and cultivate vegetables in a small-space garden each Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. from June 6 through September 12, at the Dakota County Master Gardener Research and Display Gardens in UMore Park, 1605 West 160th Street.

Plan, Plant and Grow classes are designed for new gardeners who would like to learn about the steps necessary to keep a successful vegetable garden, from choosing the site to properly cultivating the harvest. Each week will focus on a different aspect of vegetable gardening, with topics including water and nutrient requirements, composting, companion planting, seed collecting, fall planting and more.

Classes will be taught by Dakota County Master Gardeners and University of Minnesota Extension Educators. Gardeners are invited to attend as many or as few classes as they wish, and there is no cost to attend.

Document destruction at RNB

Rosemount National Bank will give residents the chance to destroy sensitive document such as old taxes and bank statements for free 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13 in the bank parking lot. Everyone is welcome.
