Henna tattoo at the library
Henna tattoo artist Jody Gustafson will be at the Robert Trail library from 11 a.m. to noon teaching teens how they can make their own henna tattoos. This program is open to any middle- or high-schooler and all supplies will be provided. Henna tattoos generally last a couple of weeks and are typically done on the hands and wrists. Come and bring a friend to practice on.
Movie in the park
The Rosemount Parks and Recreation department will show the movie "Tale of Despereaux" at dusk July 11. Visitors for amphitheater events should bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. Weather-related changes are announced on the information line at 952-985-1780.
Tuesday Evening in the Garden
The Dakota County Master Gardeners will offer classes every Tuesday evening 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. through the summer at 1605 160th St. W. in Rosemount.
The topic for July 15 will be Hypertufa Containers, taught by Mary Dalaska and Lisa Lukens. Cost is $25.
Waterford Commons will have its grand opening 4 to 7 p.m. July 15. A ribbon cutting will be held at 5:30 p.m.
The event will include tours of the building and refreshments.
Coffee with a cop
The Rosemount Police Department will continue its Coffee with a Cop program through December.
A police officer will be available to answer questions 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 16 at Starbucks, 14903 S. Robert Tr.
Puppets in the park
The Rosemount Parks and Recreation department will hold puppets in the park Friday, July 17. The puppets will visit the following parks at the times listed: Camfield Park, 9:30 a.m.; Connemara Park, 10:15 a.m.;Bloomfield Park, 11 a.m. and Jaycee Park, 11:45 a.m.
The Leprechaun Days Craft Show will be held noon to 7 p.m. in Central Park.
Shamrock Film Festival
The Shamrock Film Festival will open at 6:30 p.m. at the Rosemount Community Center auditorium with the Green Fire Irish Dancers performing. The festival will feature short films made by Minnesota talent.
Breakfast for Grace
A benefit breakfast will be held July 18 at the Rosemount Applebee's for Grace Burlage, a 5-year-old girl living with meningioma, a rare type of brain tumor.
The breakfast will include pancakes, sausages, eggs, orange juice and coffee.
Funds raised will help the family with medical costs.

Splatter sisters in the park
The Summer Music in the Park series offers a variety of professional performers to entertain your entire family throughout the summer. Concerts take place at the Central Park Amphitheater near City Hall. Most performances are 45 minutes to an hour in length. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy our beautiful Central Park this summer.
The Splatter Sisters will perform Sunday, July 19 at 6:30 p.m.
