Video games at the library

Rosemount teens can stop by the new Robert Trail Library from 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 27 to play Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revoluation.

March 3

Senior luncheon

Rosemount Area Seniors will hold a catered chicken Kiev luncheon March 3 at the Rosemount Community Center. There will be blood pressure checks at 11. Lunch is at 11:30 with a presentation at 12:15 from pharmacist John Loch.

March 7

Town hall meeting

State Sen. Chris Gerlach and Rep. Phil Sterner will hold a town hall listening session from 10:30 a.m. to noon March 7 at the Robert Trail Library in Rosemount. Lawmakers will speak on topics of regional and statewide importance and will take questions from the audience.

March 10

Firearm safety class

There will be an eight-night Minnesota DNR firearm safety class offered starting March 10 at Rosemount Middle School. Registration will take place at 6:30 p.m. March 10. The class will take place weekly after that. Minimum age is 11 and it is recommended students be at least 12. For more information call Fred Slovak at 952-432-5108.

Town hall meeting

Rep. Phil Sterner will hold a town hall meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 12 at the Galaxie Library, 14955 Galaxie Ave. in Apple Valley. Speaker of the House Margaret Anderson Kelliher will join Sterner to give residents an update on the legislative session and the state's budget deficit.

AARP driver safety course

There will be an AARP-sponsored driver safety refresher class from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. March 12 at Dakota County Technical College, room 520-A. Call Gloria Kowalczyk at 651-423-8612 to register.

March 14

Speaker

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior will present speaker Carol Zemke at their March 14 meeting. Zemke is a Mission Vision Ministry promoter who worked 15 years for Concordia College as a development officer and currently serve on several committees. The church is located at Diamond Path and County Road 42. The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m.

March 15

Spaghetti dinner

The Rosemount Lions Club will hold a Julius Caesar Memorial Dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 15 at the Rosemount American Legion. Anyone who wears a toga will get $1 off the $8 admission ($4 for children). Money raised will support Lions charities.

March 18

Education fair

Rosemount High School will host a Minnesota Association of College Admission Counsellors Minnesota Education Fair from 4 to 7 p.m. March 18. There will also be a panel discussion from 7 to 8 p.m. at which representatives from area colleges will answer questions. Approximately 100 public and private colleges and universities, community and technical colleges and other organizations will be present. Mystery dinner theater

The Rosemount Area Arts Council will present its second annual murder mystery dinner theater fundraiser March 20 at the Rosemount Community Center. This year's show is titled "Reunited With Murder," set at a high school reunion. Many of the performers are from Rosemount. Actors interact with the audience during the show.

Money raised at the event will go to support RAAC activities in the community.

Fish fry

The Rosemount Knights of Columbus will hold their annual fish fry following St. Joseph's Community Church 5:30 p.m. Lenten services March 20 and April 3 at St. Joseph's School, 14355 South Robert Trail. Service begins at 5:45 p.m. A free will offering will be accepted.

March 21

Let's Get Growing!

Dakota County Master Gardeners will hold their Let's Get Growing! spring expo from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 31 at the Rosemount Community Center.

The expo will feature information sessions on designing a home garden, small-space vegetable gardens, good plants for tough sites and flowerscaping. Between sessions visitors can browse the garden marketplace, where vendors will display art and garden-related products. Register by calling 651-480-7700 or visit www.letsgetgrowing.net.
