Family fun night
Join the Rosemount Parks and Recreation for a night of free family fun in the gymnasium & arena at the Rosemount Community Center Friday, Feb. 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Activities will include music by the Alpha Bits, inflatable jumpies, carnival games, plus much more. Open ice skating is also available from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Skate rental is not available. Refreshments will be available.
Community of Hope Church, 14401 Biscayne Ave. W, will host a free Winter Carnival Saturday, Feb. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Going to college night at RHS
Parents and guardians join Rosemount High School for a night filled with information about the steps involved in preparing high school students for the process of applying to colleges. The event will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Rosemount Performing Arts Center.
Counselors will present post-secondary planning steps in addition to important information regarding ACT testing, and much more. The RHS counselors have assembled a panel of current seniors with a wide array of post-secondary plans. Students will discuss plans to attend private four-year colleges, public four-year universities, competing as Division 1 athletes, two-year community college programs, and technical programs. The panel will cover the factors that went into their decision making process as well as tips for those considering similar paths. Don't miss this opportunity to hear directly from students about the process that is "Going to College."
Video games at the library
Rosemount teens can stop by the new Robert Trail Library from 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 27 to play Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution.
Rosemount Area Seniors will hold a catered chicken Kiev luncheon March 3 at the Rosemount Community Center. There will be blood pressure checks at 11. Lunch is at 11:30 with a presentation at 12:15 from pharmacist John Loch.
Firearm safety class
There will be an eight-night Minnesota DNR firearm safety class offered starting March 10 at Rosemount Middle School. Registration will take place at 6:30 p.m. March 10. The class will take place weekly after that. Minimum age is 11 and it is recommended students be at least 12. For more information call Fred Slovak at 952-432-5108.
Mystery dinner theater
The Rosemount Area Arts Council will present its second annual murder mystery dinner theater fundraiser March 20 at the Rosemount Community Center. This year's show is titled Reunited With Murder and is set at a high school reunion. Many of the performers are from Rosemount. Actors interact with the audience during the show.
Money raised at the event will go to support RAAC activities in the community.

Let's Get Growing!
Dakota County Master Gardeners will hold their Let's Get Growing! spring expo from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 31 at the Rosemount Community Center.
The expo will feature information sessions on designing a home garden, small-space vegetable gardens, good plants for tough sites and flowerscaping.
