Marching band breakfast

The Rosemount Marching Band will host a pancake breakfast Aug. 8 at Applebee's, 15015 Cimmaron Avenue.

The breakfast will be served 8 to 9:45a.m. Cost is $6 per person.

Knitting at the library

The Robert Trail Library will offer knitting classes Saturdays Aug. 8 and 15. Students will make snuggles for K9 Rescue. Experienced and new knitters are welcome. Supplies are provided and Rosemount's Yarn Garage will provide teachers.

Tuesday in the Garden

The Dakota County Master Gardeners will offer classes every Tuesday evening 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. through the summer at 1605 160 St. W. in Rosemount.

The topic for Aug. 12 will be Fairy Gardens, taught by Deb Snow. Cost is $10.

August 13-15

Church garage sale

Lutheran Church of Our Savior will hold its annual garage sale Aug. 13 through 15. The sale will go from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Lutheran Church of Our Savior is located at the intersection of County Road 42 and Diamond Path.

August 14

'Wicked' dance class

The Robert Trail Library will teach teens theater-style jazz dances based on the musical "Wicked" from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 14. No dance experience is necessary.

Wear comfortable clothing to move in and clean tennis shoes and socks.

Alumni soccer game

The Rosemount High School girls soccer team will hold its annual alumni game at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at Irish Stadium. Gates open at 4 p.m.

Umore open house

The Dakota County Master Gardeners and the University of Minnesota will host an open house from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Dakota County Master Gardener Education and Research Display Gardens in UMore Park, 1605 160 St. W.

The free event will include a variety of activities including live music, wine sampling, garden classes, kids games and interactive exhibits.

Additionally free lemonade and corn on the cob will served. Other foods will be available as well.

August 22

Family fun shoot

Pheasants Forever's ninth annual family fun shoot will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Dakota County Gun Club in Rosemount. More than 300 youth and 300 adults took part in last year's event. Youth activities at this year's event include trap shooting and laser shot, archery and bow fishing, dog training, ATV safety, wildlife painting and photography, waterfowl calling and more.

Teen advisory group meeting

Teens interested in having a say in some of the choices made at the Robert Trail Library can attend an informational meeting from 3 to 54.m. Aug. 24 about a new teen advisory group at the library.

Teens may pick up applications there or ahead of time at the reference desk.

TAG will help the library choose materials for the teen section of the library, help with teen programming and other volunteer type work.
