Emil J. Viskocil, 98

U.S. Veteran Emil J. Viskocil, age 98, of Farmington Minn., passed away at Three Links Care Center on Dec. 4.

Emil was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary; parents, Joseph and Anna (Kukacka) Viskocil; brothers Joseph, Jr., and Alfred Viskocil; and sisters, Emily Daleiden, and Anna Edel.

Survived by his brother Clarence Viskocil; and many nieces; nephews; and friends.

Emil graduated from Montgomery High School, entered the United States Air Force 91st Bomb Group, April 8, 1942. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 13, 1945. After his discharge from the service he took a Management and Operators course at the University of Minnesota. He married Mary Noska on June 10, 1947. Emil managed Co-op creameries for forty years. He was a charter member of the VFW. He was awarded the White Hat All State Team Commander in 1981-1982. A life member of the Military Order of the Cootie, an Honor Degree of the VFW. Life member of the American Legion, a Life member of the 8th Air Force 91st Bomb Group, and a Life member of the Knights of Columbus #1573 of Montgomery. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 4031. Emil was a Tech Sargent Flight Engineer top turret gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress. He completed thirty missions over enemy territory in Europe. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Mass of Christian Burialwill be held 11 a.m. Monday Dec. 9, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 22120 Denmark Ave., Farmington, MN, with visitation one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials will be donated to the Farmington VFW Post 7662.
