Edward Jones: Second office opens
Stacey Brown wanted to work in the city where she lives. So the Edward Jones Financial advisor pushed to open an office in Rosemount despite the fact there was another office already in the city.
Jamie Koronkiewicz, who has run the Edward Jones office in town since 2005, said it was fine. So in September, a second office opened in Rosemount.
Edward Jones provides financial services for individual investors throughout the United States.
Koronkiewicz moved her office to the Dakota Central Office Building downtown and Brown took over the office space in the Rosemount Market Square.
Wanting to be downtown, Koronkiewicz decided to move when plans to open the second office came through.
"One of the reasons is when it comes to complex financial planning you often run into areas of overlap dealing with trusts and taxes and I thought it would be convenient for my customers to be in the same building as other professionals who offer those services," said Koronkiewicz.
Having another Edward Jones office in town, she said, will help the company serve the city's growing population. Rosemount has a population of roughly 23,000 people.
She added that while each office is independent they work together as partners in Edward Jones.
"We just want to help people," said Koronkiewicz.
Sharing that philosophy, Brown said she's excited to serve the residents of Rosemount and surrounding communities.
Brown, who had an office in West St. Paul, has lived in Rosemount for several years. To get to know people Brown has gotten involved with a number of organizations including the Rosemount Lions Club, Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Rosemount Business Council. She helped found the Rosemount Rotary Club that received its charter Oct. 15.
Although she had opportunities to open an office in bigger communities, Brown said she wanted to be in Rosemount.
"I grew up in a town of 4,000 people with one stop light, so I felt like Rosemount would be a better fit for me," said Brown.
Brown grew up in Waukon, Iowa. She received a bachelor's degree from Winona State University and then went on to get a master's degree from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, Wis. Currently Brown is working toward becoming a Certified Financial Planner.
While some might think the women are competing both said that is simply not the case. As advisors with Edward Jones both are focused on helping individual investors make their financial goals.
"We are friends and really respect each other," said Koronkiewicz.
An avid supporter of education Brown already has held several seminars pertaining to issues such as divorce and financial issues and women and investing. Brown said she will continue to offer seminars including an upcoming seminar on building your personal recovery strategy, 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Old Chicago in Apple Valley.
Brown will host an open house from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at her office, 3420 150th St. W. For more information about Edward Jones or seminars offered call 651-322-2905.
