Condon earns Palm Awards

Recent Rosemount High School graduate Ryan Condon recently received his Bronze, Silver and Gold Palm Award in Boy Scouts.

The awards are for working on and receiving more merit badges than what was required for his Eagle Scout rank. The Bronze Palm represents five merit badges, the Gold Palm 10 and the Silver Palm 15.

It is said only 4 percent of Boy Scouts earn the Eagle Scout rank. Of those 4 percent, only 29 percent will earn a Bronze Palm, 17 percent will earn a Gold Palm, and 14 percent will earn a Silver Palm.

The Palm Awards were presented to Condon and Troop 207’s Court of Honor on June 9.

Condon will soon become a member of the Coast Guard Academy’s class of 2018.
