Child protection program is Feb. 16
Spend your day off from school at the Rosemount Community Center learning valuable safety skills. In this child protection class (geared for ages 7-14), children will learn the verbal tools necessary to help protect them from strangers. Children also learn distancing, verbal skills, body language and other important techniques. Parents will stay with their children, while the instructor creates realistic scenarios that get the adrenaline flowing. Northwest Martial Arts will conduct this one hour clinic from 1 to 2 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Rosemount Community Center.
Following the clinic, students will have the chance to practice their new skills in the gymnasium or just have fun participating in open gym time from 2 to 3 p.m.
Registration deadline is Feb. 11. Registration can be done online at www.ci.rosemount.mn.us, by mail or fax, or by visiting the parks and recreation office in the lower level of the community center.
