The two hour long forum will start with the large city council race. Each of the 26 council candidates will have two minutes to introduce themselves and their platforms to residents. Due to the large pool, chamber president Ruthe Batulis said council candidates will be limited to their two-minute remarks.
Then 37B candidates Phillip Sterner and Judy Lindsay will get to share their visions. Batulis said each will be alloted a two minute introduction. Then each candidate will answer questions posed by moderator Meghan McDaniels. Candidates will have one minute to answer each question. After the question period of the program, the two legislative candidates will get to make a two-minute closing remark.
The forum is only open to candidates whose names will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot, said Batulis
The chamber will hold 11 separate forums throughout the communities it serves.
"We thinks its important that citizens know why the candidates are running and what issues they believe are important," said Batulis.
The candidate forum will be held at Rosemount City Hall in council chambers. For those who can't make it to city hall the forum will air live on the Rosemount Town Pages website at www.rosemounttownpages.com and on Charter Comunication cable channel 22 and FTTH channel 7. Times for subsequents showings of the forum on cable will be determined later.
