Brommer gets national attention for backwards shot

Rosemount graduate and Iowa Hawkeyes basketball player Andrew Brommer has been getting nationwide attention this week for a shot he made at practice at Carver Hawkeye Arena that was posted to YouTube Monday. With teammates looking on, the senior threw the ball over his head backwards from the opposite baseline and watched as it sailed high above the court and down into the basket over 80 feet away.

The video appeared on ESPN's Sportscenter and has since made the rounds on other sports highlight shows and various websites.

Brommer and the Hawkeyes qualfied to play in the National Invitation Tournament that got under way this week.
