The Irish scored 285 points to place seventh out of 14 teams at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center. Rochester Century topped runner-up Prior Lake 368.5-354 for the team title.

Frank Haney led the Irish scoring with a pair of top-five individual finishes. He was third in the 100 backstroke and fourth in the 50 freestyle. He also swam legs on a pair of scoring relays. Haney and Ian Gardiner combined with Sam Kendall and Derek Schnoor for a fifth-place swim in the 200 medley relay and Cody Sedbrook and Noah Peterson for an 11th-place showing in the 400 freestyle relay.

Kendall, Schnoor, Sedbrook and Peterson added a third-place effort in the 200 freestyle relay.

Kendall and Peterson added multiple high individual finishes, as well. Kendall was eighth in the 100 freestyle and 11th in the 100 breaststroke and Peterson took fifth in the 500 freestyle and 10th in the 200 freestyle.

Eleventh-place finishes were also turned in by Schnoor in the 50 freestyle and Jason Lewandowski in the 1-meter dive. Defending state champion Dan Monaghan provided the Irish’s highest individual finish in the dive, placing second.

The Irish resume their South Suburban dual schedule at home tomorrow night against Lakeville North. Events begin at 6 p.m. at the Rosemount Middle School pool.
