Unfortunately, only one of those shots found the back of the net. Meanwhile, the Royals netted three goals while producing half as many shots and skated to a 4-2 victory.

The Irish (2-6) took an early lead thanks to a power-play goal by Austin Anderson 10:27 into the first period. Luke Meade and Anthony Winters assisted. It took Woodbury just 37 seconds to knock in the tying goal and the first period ended with the score knotted at one apiece.

The Royals quickly scored with a power-play goal 1:07 into the second, but the Irish answered with another power-play goal of their own by Ryan Foley.

Woodbury broke the 2-2 tie with a score 3:38 into the third, and then tapped in an empty-netter with eight seconds left to ice the road win.

Irish goaltender Tom Fraune finished with 24 saves.

The Irish are back in action today at a tournament at Duluth Denfield.
