Boys hockey: Rally falls short at Chisago Lakes
Rosemount Minnesota P.O. Box 192 / 312 Oak St. 55024

A big second period carried Chisago Lakes over Rosemount in a season opener for both teams last Thursday at Chisago Lakes Ice Arena.

The Tigers broke open the scoreless game with four goals in just over nine minutes and then had to hold off a late Rosemount rally to cling to a 4-3 win.

Trailing 2-0, the Irish got on the board with a goal from Justin Crowell 4:33 into the second period. Luke Gillett and Jake Simonet assisted.

It was 4-1 before Tyler Frank scored at 14:37. Luke Hedtke provided the assist.

Ryan Foley then scored 3:50 into the third period (assists to Austin Dollimer and Garret Jagoe) to make it a one-goal game, but the Irish couldn’t find an equalizer over the final 13 minutes.

Tom Fraune was back in net for the Irish and finished with 26 saves.

The Irish play at Burnsville and Eden Prairie this week before making their home debut next Thursday against Lakeville North.
