After a breakthrough at Emerald Greens Golf Course two weeks ago, the Rosemount boys golf team believed it was ready to turn around its inconsistent season.
The Irish shot a season-best 310 at the Dakota County Invitational on May 7. However, the next time out, Rosemount fell back into a lull in a South Suburban Conference tournament at Brackett's Crossing Country Club.
In the 10-team conference tournament, the Irish finished 10th with a combined total of 335. Lakeville South won the team competition with a stroke total of 307.
The finish dropped Rosemount into a tie for the final spot in the conference standings after two events.
Rosemount finishes the regular season on May 23 at Valleywood Golf Course.
Last week at Brackett's Crossing, more of the inconsistencies showed up for the Irish.
After shooting a 73 at the Dakota County tournament, Sam Reber came in with an 80 last week.
Charlie Frahm led the Irish with a 77.
Ryan Sword carded an 86.
Josh Doyle had a 74 a week earlier at Emerald Greens, but struggled to a 92.
Tony Warweg shot a 94.
The Irish had to finish shorthanded. Nick Gould had to withdraw with an illness.
