Boys basketball: Irish fall to Kennedy
Not a lot went right for Rosemount in its most lopsided loss of the season Friday night.
Bloomington Kennedy came to Irish Gym and rang up 50 points in the second half of an 84-54 rout of the Irish, who shot just 38 percent from the floor and had as many fouls (18) as rebounds and more turnovers (13) than they did assists (10).
Since starting 10-3, the Irish have dropped six of their last nine games.
“We did not play hard enough on the defensive end of the floor in order to compete in this game. We need to rebound and play much better defensively,” Rosemount coach Bryan Schnettler said. “I expect our guys to respond to this game very well and improve the next two weeks and be at our best in sections.”
Cole Northwick made four three-pointers and scored a team-high 16 points for the Irish. Matt Stephenson scored 14 points and Jared Hanson had eight.
The Irish (13-9) hosted Eagan on Tuesday and are back in action tomorrow night on the road at sixth-ranked Lakeville North.
