Boy hockey: Eagles top Irish, 5-2
With a schedule that has eased, the Rosemount boys hockey team had one game last week and only one game over an 11-day stretch.
The stretch allowed the Irish to concentrate on their game at No. 12 Apple Valley. Rosemount battled against one of the top teams in the South Suburban Conference, but was undone by one tough stretch in the second period.
Rosemount lost 5-2 against Apple Valley, allowing four goals in the second period.
The Irish have been searching for consistent, full efforts all season and one period hurt them against the Eagles.
Rosemount's Ryan Anderson started the scoring in the second period, but the Eagles countered with four straight goals before the period ended.
The Irish's Lucas Haase added another goal in the third, but Apple Valley finished the scoring.
Connor Langfield, Reese Richards, and Josh Doyle had assists for Rosemount.

There were only two penalties in the game, with each team going 0 for 1 on the man-advantage.
The loss drops the Irish to 5-11 overall and 2-7 in the South Suburban.
