Black Sox: Battle of Sox goes to Austin

Rosemount's late-season slide continued in Sunday afternoon's regular season finale against the Austin Blue Sox.

The Black Sox managed just four hits and starter Mihael Robohm allowed four runs (two earned) over the first six innings in a 6-0 loss in Rosemount. Robohm tossed seven shutout innings in an early-season 4-0 blanking of the Blue Sox in Austin.

"It was ugly. It was the same things it has been, we struggled to put the ball in play and get runners across," Rosemount player/coach Dave Molde said. "Robohm pitched pretty well again, but he left a couple pitches up and their three hitter drove it out of the park. We also gave up three of four guys on the bases and got ourselves out a few times."

Lance Anderson came in to pitch the last three innings and allowed two runs (one earned).

Jason Kirschman had two of the team's four hits.

The Black Sox took an 11-14 record into Tuesday night's section tournament opener against Burnsville at Alimagnet Park in Burnsville. A win would advance them to a game against the Austin Greyhounds Wednesday in Austin, while a loss would end the season.
