Baseball: Irish pick up 11-6 victory over Jefferson
The past week started off a little bit rough for Rosemount High School's baseball team.
On April 30, the Irish lost a hard-fought contest to Eastview, 8-7, in Lake Conference action.
Rosemount trailed 5-0 entering the fourth inning, but scored six runs in the fourth and added another in the fifth to build a 7-5 lead.
However, the Lightning put together a rally of their own, scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to steal the victory.
Ben Lemke took the loss on the mound for Rosemount. Dylan Porter hit a home run.
Against Lakeville North a day later, the Irish couldn't come from behind in an 8-1 loss.
North scored two runs in the first inning to build a lead, and the Irish cut the lead in half with a run in the third inning. However, North scored runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh to secure the conference victory.
Eugene Sturm took the loss on the mound for the Irish.
On Saturday, the Irish rebounded from the losses when they rolled to an 11-6 victory over Bloomington Jefferson in another Lake Conference contest.
The Irish continued their busy schedule on Wednesday, when it traveled to Eagan.
