The three Rosemount High School juniors are serious about making music as a living and they are looking for a lead singer who shares their passion for rock music and performing.

"We are set on taking this to a bigger stage," said Reinhardt, the band's lead guitarist. "We need to find a lead singer who has the right attitude and energy."

Finding a talented singer who loves rock and roll has been a challenge for the band and the trio is frustrated with their search so far.

"Music today is overrun by pop and rap," said Reinhardt. "We want to get kids our age interested in the rock scene."

Drymalski, the drummer, said the group has been influenced by all sorts of rock bands including classics such as Led Zeppelin and more current acts such as Shine Down and the Foo Fighters.

Drymalski and Reinhardt have been playing together for more than a year. They started jamming together after another band Drymalski played in broke up.

Drymalski's dad is the touring manager for the Stone Temple Pilots and encouraged the young men to start up a band. A working acquaintance in the music business told the young men he would help them get shows.

So they started Detour. In the beginning the band had a female singer and a different bassist but they split from them after making a demo.

A couple months ago they brought Vick on to play bass. While he hadn't played the instrument before Vick said he was willing to learn. Reinhardt said Vick's a talented musician and learned the instrument quickly.

Now they just need to find a fourth brother, so they can practice and get into the studio. The band has several songs already written and will continue to write more. Reinhardt said they also play a few covers.

The trio is dedicated to becoming professional musicians. They know to be good they will have to work at it.

"Practice, practice, practice. We're going to have to work really hard at this," said Reinhardt.

If you got a voice, a love for rock and roll and a lot of energy Detour would like to talk to you. Call 651-231-2163 and ask for Blake.

The trio asks that only serious inquiries call.
