2 businesses fail alcohol checks
Two Rosemount businesses failed liquor compliance checks earlier this year. Police chief Gary Kalstabakken said Rosemount Liquor and Wine Cellar and Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar failed to ID or sold to a minor during a compliance check April 24.
All Rosemount establishments that sell alcohol were checked during the same week. To check compliance the police department had an underage buyer go into each of the establishments. The minor went to a clerk or server and asked to purchase alcohol. If carded the minor was supposed to make up a story and see if the person would still sell. If they said no, Kalstabakken said the minor was instructed to leave the establishment.
This is the third offense for both businesses. Kalstabakken said the city is working with both businesses to come up with a penalty.
