13 locals compete in Lifetime triathlon

Thirteen Rosemount athletes completed the 10th annual Life Time Fitness Triathlon Saturday in Minneapolis.

Seven locals completed the international course, which included a 1 1/2 kilometer swim, a 40 kilometer bike ride and a 10 kilometer run. The top Rosemount finisher was David Leard, who finished 90th out of 799 finishers in 2 hours, 30 minutes, 26 seconds. Jim Browning (318th), Todd Ciresi (123rd), Mike Fox (774th), Brad Howard (323rd), Brian Shoemaker (297th) and Brian Tucci (101st) also completed the international course.

Greg Tebrake was the top Rosemount finisher in the short course. He swam four-tenths of a mile, biked 15 miles and ran three miles in 1:36.59 to place 310th out of 820 competitors. Rebecca Driessen (595th), Maria Johnson (372nd) and Shari Rene (506th) also competed.

Angie Hop Mracek was Rosemount's only competitor in the elite race. She swam 1 1/2 kilometers, biked 40 kilometers and ran 10 kilometers in 2:37.26 to place 55th.

13-year-old Max Johnson was the only Rosemount athlete in the junior race. He placed 27th in 1:24.23.
