Dakota County will receive single prime sealed bids for the final bid package for the renovation of an existing 29,000 square feet library located at 14995 Galaxie Avenue (at CR 42) until 10:00 a.m. local time on Thursday December 07, 2017 at the office of Facilities Management, Dakota County Administration Center, Suite 2500, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota, 55033 at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Pre-bid conference and tour will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday November 16, 2017 at the Library. The Library will not be open to the public at this time. Please meet Representatives of the Owner and Architect at the front entry to the Library.
There will be one Planned Addendum issued on 11/28. All questions from contractors must be submitted by 11/21 to be included in the addendum.
Bidding documents including the bid form, drawings and specifications can be obtained from Ebid # 5411321 and will be available for 50$ fee on or after November 09, 2017 and for review at the office of Bentz Thompson Rietow Inc. This project includes: Complete renovation of the existing 29,000 sf library, built in 1989. There will be a temporary library operating and a small 2nd phase to incorporate this space into the main plan. Work includes demolition of interior and interior M and E systems, construction of the new library inside the existing shell. Installation of a new external book drop and access lane. Installation of a new wet fire protection system, mechanical and electrical systems and interior finishes. Refer to project manual and drawings for full information.
Prevailing wages are required on this project.

Bids must be submitted only on the bid form supplied in the Bid Document - Project Manual. No oral, telegraphic or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Submit with each bid a certified check or acceptable bidder's bond payable to Dakota County in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond each equal to 100% of the total contract amount.
Bids may not be withdrawn within forty-five (45) days after the opening bids. It is anticipated that the Dakota County Board of Commissioners will consider award of the project on January 02, 2018 and reserves the right to accept any bid or to reject any or all bids, or parts of such bids, and waive informalities or irregularities in bidding.

The Owner requires Substantial Completion of the project by July 17, 2018.
